ALDO new retail experience delivers their store of the future
The connected store program consists of several fully interactive and fully integrated in-store touchpoints. From early 2016 the Endless Shelf concept was launched in 23 stores across Canada and the US, along with the supporting backend systems. Creating the foundation for the newly launched Kinetic Commerce platform.
The Endless Shelf is an interactive, wall mounted experience running on both situated iPads and large touchscreen displays. It covers the full product catalogue, a content rich browsing experience, and the ability to request a Try On for any product that is available in store.
Why? Some customers find ALDO’s huge selection intimidating, passing those products over because they can’t imagine how they might wear them. The solution was to wrap each product with high-quality model shots that inspire the user with different ways to wear the same product – developed a novel content platform that allows ALDO to pair multiple products with the same model shots.
For associates and store managers, these touchpoints present new opportunities for interacting with their customers. Workshops were also held to assist staff to rethink the existing selling framework and develop a “store of the future” that would combine digital content and experiences with physical products to create a best in class retail experience.
